McCloud River Fishing Report: August 2019
Not a lot to report on here. In full summertime mode.Fish are digging in and staying dug in until early morning and evening.The temperature has been in the low 90s to over 100 degrees.Fishing during the day has been hard.Last trip out on the McCloud I did well on a articulated leach fished on a 200 grain sink tip in some of the deeper water. McCloud River Fishing Report: July 2019
Flows on the McCloud are running normal for this time of year.With this heat coming on you will need to be a little more patient than normal. This means fishing a run a little longer than the norm and changing fly’s often.If I find the fish are being stubborn, I will change flies’ multiple times in the same run.
