I have spent very little time on this river since my last report, so I don’t have much to report on. Typically, August and early September can be tough on these river only because it is so hot out. It's the dog-days of summer. Fishing is going to be best early before the sun is high and temperatures are hot, then again at or near sundown. Looking towards September for better reports. All said, there's no reason why you can't get out on this river, stick a few fish and enjoy wet wading. Better fishing is found on Fall River, the Pit River, McCloud, Hat Creek. I like to fish the upper sac early and late in the day this time of year. As the sun gets over head on this river the fish get to be a little finicky. Deeper and shady areas seem to be the trick until the sun gets off the water. This is a great river for dry fly dropper technique.
