The Fall river is still fishing well despite the heat. Boat traffic has been light and the other day I was the only boat in the area I was fishing.
The fish however are very boat shy right now due to the extremely clear water and lots of sun light. So, it is best to get on the upstream side of them and then let them settle down a little before fishing to them. There has been a good tan Baetis hatch going on mid-morning. Fish are spread out through out the river. Best fishing seams to be early morning until about noon, and then again when the wind comes up or around 3pm.
Top Flies:
- Soft Hackle Pts
- Leaches
- Water Boatmen
- Baetis Nymphs
- Black or Green Micro Mayflies
- Callibaetis Spinners & Duns
