With the first real heat of the summer starting to come on you will want to change things up a little bit on Fall River.
Early morning fishing has been good for dry fly fishing, and the caddis from the previous night are still active then.
Fish are on the dry’s in the early morning moving off them by 10:00 am and starting to move on to other venues.
Fishing a little deeper water at that time will start to pay off.
Using underwater techniques will start to pick up then, and go on until the heat of the day starts to kick in.
At that time, I like to switch back and forth between using an indicator and a type 3 sinking line.
Swing caddis patterns in the evening has been working well.
The Hex is still going but starting to back off a little.
Top Flies: Soft Hackle Pts, leaches, water boatman, baetis nymphs, black and green micro may fly. Callibaetis spinners, and Duns have all been working well.
How’s your schedule for the May 16?
