Hat Creek is still doing pretty good despite the heat. It seems the best time to fish it is early morning until about 11am. Pit River Fishing Report: July 2019
Currently the Pit River is fishing well. Heat can really affect the Pit River so you will really need to pay attention to the type of water you are fishing. Get out of the slower water and look for water with a higher oxygen content and moves faster. Flows on the McCloud are running normal for this time of year. With this heat coming on you will need to be a little more patient than normal. I like to fish the upper sac early and late in the day this time of year. As the sun gets over head on this river the fish get to be a little finicky.
